Sponsored Fun Run

A slightly moist field didn't dampen spirits for this year's Sponsored Run. The children had a great afternoon raising more and more money for each lap they completed, some parents, it has to be said, were quite surprised at the number of laps that their children managed to complete!
To-date the event has raised over £1,800 - a fantastic effort from all involved - well done kids!!

ken bootersFoVP Car Boot Sale (and Rummage sale)

The weather stayed fine for our first ever Car Boot sale. Keen 'Booters' started arriving just after 8.30 to set up their stalls. The weather also enabled us to set out stalls for the rummage outside which was nice. Money raised yet to be confirmed but everyone went home happy.

AGM

President's Report
Another great year for the Friends of Vicarage Park has flown by and I would like to thank everyone involved in the Association for all their hard work.
Our Summer Fair was spectacular.  The well organised event appeared to run like clockwork and was very well attended.  Having Mr Bond in the stocks was an inspirational move.
The programme over the year provided a variety of events for all to attend; there has been something for everyone.  The newly established Friends website is a promising new development and will help promotion and keeping everyone involved.
Each year the opportunities we can offer the children are made all the richer through the continued hard work of the team of friends and their efforts to raise money. The smiles and such obvious enjoyment on your children’s faces when they danced with Albie says it all.  So on behalf of each and everyone of the  pupils at Vicarage Park I extend thanks to the  Officers, committee members and those of you who make things happen, you are true friends.

Chair’s report
Here we are again another year flown.
This last year we haven’t organised as many events as in previous years due to academic commitments of Karen and myself, which probably indicates we need to split the organising workload in the future.
Despite this events have included, jumble sale, bags to school, disco, present’s room, swimathon and jewellery collection. We have had steady sales of puddings, cards, bags, uniform and quizzes which have all generated steady income. Once again the main event of the year has been the very successful summer fair, raising more money I think than has been done in recent years and I feel showcasing the school in a good light to the community.
All this being done to provide those extras that have become a part of all our children’s lives.
Thanks go to all who have volunteered to make this possible, be it with time, money, cakes, or dry faces all hopefully with a grin not a grimace most of the time!
But special thanks go to;
The staff on the committee, out new publicity whiz Tracey who has greatly improved the profile of the ‘friends’, Ian for his careful financial know-how, Julie for her continued support and particularly Karen who has worked tirelessly doing much more than her’ I’ll just keep it ticking along’ secretary role.
I hope we can continue encouraging parents and friends to take more of an active part of the organisation, ’cos’ as we all know’ many hands make light work’, well lighter anyway!
Thank you.
