About the Friends of Vicarage Park

WHO we are
A group of mums and dads who, in the main, give up a small amount of time during the school year to help organise and run social and fund raising activities.

WHAT we do
During the year there is a whole raft of different events that go on, from school discos; to jumble sales; to snowman drives; to race nights; culminating in the summer fair.

WHEN & WHERE we meet
We keep meetings as short and infrequent as possible - we're all busy people! - either a quick meeting in the staff room or a more sociable discussion over a drink in a public house.

WHY do we bother
Hopefully, the events we put on are 'fun' and enjoyed by the parents and children alike. The money we raise pays for a number of extra curricula activities which are enjoyed immensely by all the children, to name a few:

  • Book bags for new starters
  • Silverband falconry display
  • Albie dance residency
  • Life education bus
  • Theatre group visit
  • Fruit for Key Stage 2
  • Dictionaries for yr 6 leavers
  • Visits to classes by
    • Astronomer
    • Bright sparks
    • Circus skills
    • Road safety awareness

This year we have managed to raise over £4,000 and hope to better that next year.

HOW can you help
You tell us!

  • do you have experience in organising similar events?
  • do you have a particular 'talent' you could share?
  • doyou or your friends and family have access to equipment we could make use of?
  • or are you just 'happy to help'?
