About the Friends of Vicarage Park
WHO we are
A group of mums and dads who, in the main, give up a small amount of time during the school year to help organise and run social and fund raising activities.
WHAT we do
During the year there is a whole raft of different events that go on, from school discos; to jumble sales; to snowman drives; to race nights; culminating in the summer fair.
WHEN & WHERE we meet
We keep meetings as short and infrequent as possible - we're all busy people! - either a quick meeting in the staff room or a more sociable discussion over a drink in a public house.
WHY do we bother
Hopefully, the events we put on are 'fun' and enjoyed by the parents and children alike. The money we raise pays for a number of extra curricula activities which are enjoyed immensely by all the children, to name a few:
- Book bags for new starters
- Silverband falconry display
- Albie dance residency
- Life education bus
- Theatre group visit
- Fruit for Key Stage 2
- Dictionaries for yr 6 leavers
- Visits to classes by
- Astronomer
- Bright sparks
- Circus skills
- Road safety awareness
This year we have managed to raise over £4,000 and hope to better that next year.
HOW can you help
You tell us!
- do you have experience in organising similar events?
- do you have a particular 'talent' you could share?
- doyou or your friends and family have access to equipment we could make use of?
- or are you just 'happy to help'?
